Playing The Race Card

Do politicians routinely evoke racial stereotypes, promote fears, and inject national resentments into the camp pain Lexicon?

A long time ago, when my family arrived in this great nation, just like everyone else did, we were met with these type s of racist taunts, but that was then and this is not the way it should be now.

It has been a while since national presidential campaigns have played the race card. Most have tried to ignore this volatile and incendiary language. But facing jail time, if you are not elected could force some to do the unthinkable in order to become untouchable.

In this age of #MeToo and racial equality, most politicians would not prime race with impunity due to the new norm of equality which prohibits racist speech. However, there are incentives that to this day still appeal to some white voters.

Remember Mexico will build the wall, well that didn't go well for the divider in chief, so he is trying a new twist on an old nasty.

A suggestion that four minority members of Congress “go back” to the countries they came from and bring on the anti-American sentiment at one of the campaign rallies has brought race, identity, and grievances to the 2020 campaign.

Trump mo for the past years has been to do the same, but apparently, only he can say make objections about America. Everyone else must leave, even though his ancestors were also born somewhere else.

It now appears that the whole world is watching at the increasingly hot political rhetoric from the Republicans.
