The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into links between Trump's associates and Russia.
Director James Comey is investigating possible links and coordination between Russia and associates of President Donald Trump as part of a broader probe of Russian interference in last year's presidential campaign.
This announcement is part of a wider investigation that began last summer examining Russian influence and possible connections between Moscow and Trump's campaign.
During a full session, Director Comey rejected Trump's claim that his predecessor had wiretapped his New York skyscraper, and he corrected, in real time, the president's Monday tweets about his testimony.
President Trump provided a running commentary Monday on the testimony to Congress. Thanks to the length of the hearing and the immediacy of Twitter, Comey was able to comment on the president's commentary without leaving his seat. It was a nearly real-time exchange that circled back on itself, like a cat chasing its tail. TRUMP: "The NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence electoral process."
THE AP FACTS: No such assurance was offered by Comey or his fellow witness at the hearing, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers. They did not offer any conclusions about whether Russia succeeded in influencing the election.
