Talk about a real blast from the past... Years ago, as a young college student in Miami, I had the good fortune of being accepted to a work-study internship program at WPLG-TV 10.  I watched one of the great electronic journalists perform nightly news media magic.

Doctor Ken, the news doctor became a mentor, and years later, I was lucky to have LinkedIn through social media and speak with him- I said Doctor what’s ailing TV?

What about the final bill?WABC TV 7 Anchorman Bill Ritter finally got a haircut and says it was for a very good cause.

Long live “NBC News Overnight” This was the best TV Network Newscast that has ever been produced. We enjoyed the greatest anchors and the finest staff ever assembled by Executive Producer and creator Herb Dudnick, RIP, Herbie.

My friend and colleague Linda Ellerbee writes -

"Fade in. Fade out. It didn’t go on forever. It didn’t change the world or the networks. All it ever was, was a low-budget, a late-night television program. But it was ours.

Journalism vs Gossip

What is the difference between journalism and gossip, or news and views? One is fact-based and the other is someone, a group's personal opinion, or point of view.

So-called yellow journalism emphasizes sensational crime, gossip columns about celebrities and stars, views, opinions, and junk news. If it bleeds it leads.

While gossip and the rumor mill information becomes more popular as informal modes of communication, it has a way of influencing public opinion and individual actions.
