Asian Arrivals Surpass Hispanics
The year was 1900. Over three years after fire had destroyed the buildings on Ellis Island, a brand new station was built at the end of the year. Between then and the end of the decade, over six million immigrants were processed in that three acre island now known as The Gateway to America. The largest group was processed in 1907 with more than one million immigrants passed through.
Since then, there have been endless amounts of immigrants wishing to live in the land of freedom and justice for all. Europeans, Africans, Hispanics, Asians...etc..
