Twinkie Defense

Will that #LooseCannon #MAGALago #TrumpJudge use the infamous 2006 #SCOTUS in #USA v. Gonzalez-Lopez, 548 U.S. 140?

Antonin Scalia referred to the #TwinkieDefense with regard to the right to counsel of choice as perhaps more important than the right to effective assistance of counsel. https://www.scotusblog.com/2006/04/tuesdays-argument-in-us-v-gonzalez-l…

The #TrumpJudge is Florida-based US district judge Aileen Cannon. She appointed A special master to serve in the legal fight between The former guy and the Department of Justice over government documents the former president kept at his Florida resort.

This loose cannon ruled that she can't accept DOJ's claim that Trump 'could not possibly have a possessory interest' in some documents seized until a third party looks at them.

The Justice Department has asked a federal appeals court to lift a judge’s order that temporarily barred it from reviewing a batch of classified documents seized during an FBI search of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home.

The judge proposed by Trump named to vet records seized by FBI https://www.reuters.com/legal/judge-proposed-by-trump-named-vet-records…

Judge Cannon “record suggests ongoing factual and legal disputes as to precisely which materials constitute personal property and/or privileged materials.” The truth is that thare no such disputes in “the record,” only in comments to the media.

When challenged in the nation's highest court, will she try to hide behind and ultimately rely on the Twinkie defense?
