Roger Harrison Mudd, who was an American broadcast journalist, news anchorman, and TV Network correspondent for
@CBSNews @NBCNews and PBS #NewsHour. Most recently he was the primary anchor for #TheHistoryChannel.
Roger Mudd was born: 2/9/1928. He was 93 years old. He reportedly died of kidney failure at his home in McLean, Virginia.
Especially famous for a 1979 interview with Senator Ted Kennedy, Mudd memorably spoke to the Massachusetts lawmaker,
only days before he intended to announce his run for the 1980 Democratic ticket. “Why do you want to be president?"
Mudd began his career in the 1950s as a reporter for WTOP Radio in Washington, DC. In 1961, he was hired by CBSNews.
I had the honor of writing editing and producing for Roger at #NBCRadio. Here’s one NBC show we produced.
