While the prospect of entire cities submerging by 2050 is unlikely, the increased frequency of flooding poses a significant risk. Dr. William Sweet, an oceanographer at NOAA, emphasizes that even a modest rise of two feet above average high tide can cause severe disruptions.

By 2050, many cities could face significant challenges due to rising sea levels.

Pacific Coast: Seattle, San Francisco, and San Diego

Gulf Coast: New Orleans, Houston, and Tampa
