The International Oceans' record heat streak had reached a 13-month high and getting hotter, according to published reports.

"Whilst temperature variations associated with natural cycles like El Niño come and go, the extra energy trapped into the ocean and the atmosphere by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases will keep pushing the global temperature towards new records," Carlo Buontempo, director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service

While the world witnesses climate change, the GOP's new curriculum minimizes teaching about the dangers of global warming and scientific information.

This disinformation goes back to Richard M. Nixon at a 1966 campaign stump meeting. Generations later, the Republicans continue to institutionalize willful ignorance teaching children to hate windmills and love fossil fuels.

While there is only one planet we call Mother Earth and one global ocean, the vast body of water that covers 71 percent of the Earth is geographically divided into distinct named regions. The boundaries between these regions have evolved over time for a variety of historical, cultural, geographical, and scientific reasons.
