The Best?

Submitted by ub on

Rock and roll influenced our fashion sense, our behavior, and different cultural norms. From the hundreds of rock bands that have mushroomed since the birth of the genre in the 1950s, only a small proportion made it in a truly spectacular and unique way.

Pardon My French

When I was just a kid, adults often liked to say pardon my #French to excuse their unfortunate use of profanity in my presence.

That mean that it was usually preceded or followed by big curse words. I will never forget my very first job interview.

The Beatles’ Revolver Was Their Avant-Garde R&B Album It’s remembered as revealing the possibilities of the studio,

However the Fab Four band was no less obsessed with the possibilities being revealed by Motown and Stax as British soul brothers across the pond.

This blog entry is also used ro remind everyone about the need to disarm before we all lose our heads.

King Crimson

The rock band King Crimson moved performers across genres, but then the progressive group turned into something different.

Rock’s biggest-selling acts, including Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes, would become variously susceptible to pomposity, whimsy or slickness.

King Crimson is a rock band that people are dying to be in. In the Court of the Crimson King is a dark, comic film for anyone who wonders whether it is worth sacrificing everything for just a single moment of transcendence.

Brian Douglas Wilson, founding member, and composer of The Beach Boys talks about his professional past and present.

Big and bad boy Brian had a complicated life. He learned to partner with other band members to write originals for the band. That includes many of my favorite songs for the American Superstar group.

Loretta Lynn Country Music Queen

Loretta Lynn had more songs banned from American radio than every other male country artist combined in the 20th century.

She was a straight-talking woman with a real down-home style and a series of direct USA country music songs with a serious message to tell.

In a career that spanned six decades in country music, Ms. Lynn released multiple gold albums. She had hits such as "You Ain't Woman Enough", "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin", "One's on the Way", "Fist City", and "Coal Miner's Daughter".
