There is good news and there is not so good news. First the not so good news is that it took me 2 hours to travel 20 miles in NYC traffic today. Crosstown traffic was the usual mess and driving downtown was dreadful.

Now the good news. This was a very special meeting with someone even more special than I could have hoped for. She was in town for a few high caliber meetings with some very important people, the least of which was me.

Unfair Fares

Thanks to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) bus, subway fares and tolls are now in effect for the fifth time in eight years, the MTA has increased subway, bus and bridge crossings fares. NYC monthly pass now costs $116.50, and single rides are up to $2.75.However, the subways are more crowded and filthier than ever and the service is worse than that causing some commuters to chant more transportation agony.

I Know Nothing About Politics...

This was the first phrase I learned when I arrived to the US and could barely speak English. My parents were trying to protect their children because of Fidel Castro's Revolution, The Cuban Missile Crisis and issues surrounding the base in Guantanamo.

However, politics is what decides much in our lives. From how our health care is set up, which subjects schools are teaching to salaries we will be earning as adults.
