After 611 days of staying away from the gridiron, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has an amazingly successful comeback from his multiple neck surgeries and surprises doubters and loyal fans by throwing his 400th career touch down pass in Denver's 31-19 game victory over Pittsburgh Steelers. Manning received a big assist from another big-time free agent and corner-back Tracy Porter, whose 43-yard interception return of Roethlisberger's pass with 2 minutes left and the Broncos clinging to victory.

President's child born in White House. Frances Folsom Cleveland, the wife of President Grover Cleveland, gives birth to a daughter, Esther, in the White House. During an intimate ceremony held in the Blue Room of the White House, President Grover Cleveland married Frances Folsom, the daughter of Cleveland's late law partner and friend, Oscar Folsom. Fewer than 40 people were present to witness the 49-year-old president exchange vows with Frances, who at 21 years of age became the youngest first lady in U.S. history.

Tornadoes in NYC swept out of the sea and hit areas on Saturday, blowing debris in the air, knocking out power and startling residents who once thought that twisters were mainly a Midwestern phenomenon.

Public safety officials are still assessing the damage, but no serious injuries were reported and the area affected by the storm appeared minimal.

Area residents received advance notice when The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Queens and Brooklyn at around 10:40 a.m. 30 minutes later, the storm took people by surprise anyway when it struck.
