Why have there been so many neighborhoods left out? New York City's nearly two-week-old bike-share program already is among the largest on earth, but it has neglected neighborhoods where the majority of the population lives.

Many bike stations are located in Brooklyn and selected Manhattan neighborhoods.

The solar-powered docking stations and the nearly 6K blue Citi Bikes can be found in Manhattan, below 59th Street and selected neighborhoods of Brooklyn. But many neighborhoods including Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, are left bike-less.

Over the past week President Xi Jinping and his superstar wife Peng Liyuan have been on a world-wind tour.

The power couple have visited the Caribbean and Latin America before they arrived in California.

The couple have been involved in serious work and global diplomacy, but they have also had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the global hospitality.

Hydraulic Fracturing or FRACKING?

The energy industry wants you to know that they are responsible operations and that natural gas is found throughout the world in underground formations, such as sandstone, carbonates, coal and shale. Gaining access to this gas involves drilling vertical, horizontal or multi-lateral wells to the target formation.

Various completion techniques, such as hydraulic fracturing, are then used to create an effective connection between the well and the targeted hydrocarbon-containing formation, thereby providing a pathway for the gas to be produced.

NYC MOST COMPETITIVE ON EARTH

A new study commissioned by CityGroup indicates that New York City takes the top overall spot in the rankings as the most competitive city on earth.

That study was carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit for Citigroup, which took a holistic approach to determining what makes these cities competitive.

The USA dominated the list by taking six of the top 20 spots, including New York in top spot far more than any other country.

No. 1 is NYC. London ranked second, Singapore was third, while Chicago was ninth on the most-competitive.

CYCLONE ANDREA

Post-Tropical Cyclone Andrea will continue to accelerate northeastward along the Northeast Coast through Saturday.

However, heavy rainfall will be the main impact. Some creeks and small rivers may rise out of their banks in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

Numerous Flood Warnings are still in effect.

ANDREA WINDS & RAIN

The first officially named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season is a cyclone and it has a wide reach. It has drenched the southeastern U.S. moving swiftly up the East Coast and bringing the threat of weekend flooding as far north as New England.

Andrea made its way up the US East Coast, dumping rains from North and South Carolina to as far north as New England. The storm is delaying hundreds of flights. Andrea shed its tropical characteristics but still remained a threatening storm with heavy rain and high winds.
