Racist and gender-based violence, white supremacy, and xenophobia have afflicted our nation since its inception. We must all name them, condemn them, and do everything within our power to halt them, wherever and in whatever form they occur.
An overwhelming amount of research by organizational scientists, psychologists, sociologists, economists, and demographers conducted over the years shows us that socially mixed groups and those with a diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation are much more productive and innovative than homogeneous ones.
American government officials cannot allow hate to continue terrorizing our communities of color across our country. The hate needs to stop. We need to stand up for Democracy and come together to fight back against bigotry, and xenophobia.
Even after the #Cult45 mob stormed the Capitol, 147 Republicans in both houses voted to toss electoral votes. In other words, nearly 60 percent of GOP members were willing to subvert democracy to win power. By contrast only 17 Republicans, a mere 7 percent voted to impeach.
