American Carnage

In less than a week, 18 people have been killed during two mass shootings by 21-year-old men who recently purchased weapons. The suspect in the latest shooting killed 10 in Colorado is now sitting in county jail and charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder.

The murders also include a drive-by shooting at a vigil in Stockton, California where five were wounded; a shooting in Portland when four were wounded; a shooting at a nightclub in Houston when five were wounded; a shooting at a nightclub in Dallas when eight people wounded, and one foubd dead; and shooting at an “illegal party” in Philadelphia with five wounded, and one dead.

It makes the crime spree horrific to learn that Boulder’s assault weapons ban, which was meant to stop these types of mass shootings, was blocked by elected so-called public servants exactly ten days before the grocery store attack.

The Colorado shooting suspect was arrested after allegedly killing 10 at a Boulder supermarket, including one police officer.

With yet another USA community grieving in the aftermath of the second mass shooting in a week, a US Senate hearing is set for today on gun control legislation, while it should be gaining new urgency across America.

Universal background checks will save lives. Outlawing high capacity magazines will save lives. Getting the military-style weapons off our street and private ownership will save lives, so why is the GOP dead set against these?

Here’s what is being reported in American newspapers. There are 393 million guns, more than one gun per American and about 46 percent of all civilian-owned guns on earth.

A suspect, injured during the shooting, was in custody, the police said.

A police officer was among the 10 dead.

The shots are getting closer.’ Witnesses recounted moments of terror, inside and outside the store.

First Atlanta, then Boulder: Two mass shootings in a week.

A judge recently blocked Boulder from enforcing its assault-weapon ban.

A Ruger AR-556 costs about $730 new, comes with a 30-round magazine, and has a buttstock that allows shooters to adjust firing positions rapidly when "moving from open environments to tight quarters." The Boulder murderer had no right to purchase this killing machine. Anyone who is against firearm reform, is not pro-life.
