After dumping snow and ice across the South, wreaking havoc with air and road travel from Texas to the Carolinas, a serious storm takes aim on the Northeast. It is expected to dump over a half foot on portions of New England. Substantial travel delays, school cancellations and disruptions to daily activities in New England from the snowstorm.

Crimes and Vulnerabilities

Too many women are still finding themselves victimized at the intersection of vulnerability, trust, and poverty.

Sexual harassment or sexual assault on the part of a supervisor, landlord, or others has unfortunately been under-studied and under-reported.

Women live in fear, facing an impossible choice between keeping their places of residence, or their jobs and submitting to predatory misconduct by predatory men who are in positions of power.

Creativity Explained

Submitted by ub on

To get my creative juices flowing, I try to test my limits by exposing myself to different situations and pushing through the uncomfortable ones. Once I reach a level of confidence, I'm amazed what I can accomplish.

Scientists have found why some people are more creative than others. The creative thought involves dynamic interactions of large-scale brain systems, with the most compelling finding being that the default and executive control networks, which can show an antagonistic relation, tend to cooperate during creative cognition and artistic performance.

MLK Nightmare

To break all the chains of hate that fill way too many hearts is by the real truths within Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

2018 marks 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Americans have worked to bring Dr. King’s dream to fruition and today, that work is more urgent than ever. He used to say, If you can’t fly then run if you can’t run then walk if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.

It seems inconceivable that after Americans elected Barack Obama @POTUS44 for two consecutive terms, that @realDonaldTrump and now @POTUS is still defending himself against continued charges that he is racist. When Trump, the 'least racist' person, has been accused of racism http://nydn.us/2EIdSYm If we tolerate this in a president, what does it say about us? @CNN http://cnn.it/2EF5WHv Barack Obama @BarackObama
"Dr. King was 26 when the Montgomery bus boycott began. He started small, rallying others who believed their efforts mattered, pressing on through challenges and doubts to change our world for the better. A permanent inspiration for the rest of us to keep pushing towards justice."

As people all over the world celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. as a day with hours of community service in the name of the civil rights leader, they may recall the historic speech he delivered during the March on Washington. He said I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. What folks may not know about King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech is that it was improvised. As people observe MLK Day, past presidents volunteered on MLK Day. Donald Trump spent it playing golf, while others perform positive tasks that make a difference as a tribute to Dr. King's iconic speech. https://www.archives.gov/files/press/exhibits/dream-speech.pdf

Let us never allow anyone, regardless of who they are, or how rich, famous, successful or even a self-described very stable genius to change the narrative about equality, peaceful resistance, or to increase efforts at upending the lives of hundreds of thousands of immigrants, who come to America seeking freedom and justice for all.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders and prevention.
None of these dangerous men would have done their harm to humanity if they had undergone psychiatric tests. The longer they're in office, the more they shocked and alarmed with strange and extremely unpresidential behavior.

The Best Policy

Submitted by ub on

Honesty is always the best policy. Some of us chose to tell small lies to avoid reality, or difficult situations and hide feelings or intentions. However, lying always comes at a price whilst the truth is invaluable.

The truth may be sacrosanct, but everyone knows it is wiser to tell a white lie if the truth causes unnecessary strife so its OK to bend it a bit. But not too much or it could break and fly back in your face.

Trump’s Mission Impossible

I once built a TV station in the Eagle Pass and Del Rio, Texas area, where I lived near the Rio Grande along the shores of Lake Amistad adjacent to Maverick and Valverde counties, and believe me, this I can tell you... The tough Texas terrain along the US Mexico border will make it virtually impossible even for a very stable genius to build a real border wall. Eagle Pass borders the city of Piedras Negras, in Coahuila, and Del Rio a city in and the county seat of Val Verde across Ciudad Acuña, both are located in Mexico.
