At a time of escalating conflicts, violent extremism, displacement and humanitarian need, the courage and determination of Mahatma Gandhi, whose birthday we celebrate today, is an inspiration for us all.

Since the December 2012 shooting in Newtown, CT, there have been at least 142 school shootings in US. This is an average of nearly one a week. Why is there little being done, other talk and empty promises from our leaders?

cloud tops colder than -80C in the eyewall, the eye has not become

During a news conference at NASA headquarters today, agency scientists and officials discussed new findings from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) that provide the strongest evidence yet that liquid water flows intermittently on present-day Mars.

Using an imaging spectrometer on MRO, researchers detected signatures of hydrated minerals on slopes where mysterious streaks are seen on the Red Planet. These downhill flows, known as recurring slope lineae (RSL), often have been described as possibly related to liquid water.
