Millions around the world have paid their final respects to the late Mexican superstar Alberto Aguilera Valadez, who was better known by his stage name Juan Gabriel.
On Sunday, September 11, 2016, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC will have a Mass commemorating the life of legendary Mexican singer and producer Alberto Aguilera Valadez, also known by his stage name Juan Gabriel beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Mass celebration will be open to the public and the celebrant of the Mass will be Monsignor Robert Ritchie, the rector of the Cathedral.
Juan Gabriel who passed away on August 28, 2016, at the age of 66 will be remembered for his dedications and contributions to the Hispanic community. Born in Paracuaro, Michoacan, Mexico and as the youngest of ten children, Gabriel found solace in music and composed his first single when he was only 13 years old. For over thirty-six years, Grammy-nominated Gabriel is credited to have written and produced hundreds of Hispanic songs in addition to translating the songs into French, German, Italian and Japanese. Gabriel leaves four children.
Throughout his career, many of Gabriel’s performances were benefit concerts to support Mexican orphans and he founded a house for orphaned and underserved children in the City of Juarez, Chihuahua.
