For many, 16 years ago today on September 11, 2001, was going to be the first day of the rest of their lives. A day that will live in infamy. It was a dark day in US history, as nearly 3,000 people died when hijackers commandeered airplanes and slammed them into NYC's World Trade Center, US Pentagon and a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, hating Americans into a new consciousness and the real threat of international terrorism.

Hurricane Irma

There's nothing sober, gentle, or sedate about Irma's arrival to the US mainland. As the category 4 hurricane begins an assault on Key West, it is expected to take its time drenching the Florida flatlands.

If there is anyone in the area and finds the winds going calm, you're in the eye, but do not go out. Stay inside! Winds dramatically shift and will do so violently! STAY PUT

An imperfect storm with heavy rains and massive crosswinds has caused a deep state of confusion for Florida, which has it in its crosshairs after it devastated portions of The Caribbean.

Hurricane Irma has been downgraded to a Category 4 status after the eye of the storm was moving over Cuba's Camaguey Archipelago.

This extremely catastrophic storm is expected to make landfall in Florida tomorrow morning. Most of South Florida is under a hurricane warning, and the governors of four Southeast states have now declared emergencies.

My wife and her younger sister suggested we all drive from NYC to Maine on a Lobster vacation. We did and had a marvelous Maine journey as well as enjoyed fresh lobsters, rolls, bisque and so many other delicacies that I could go on and on.

However, I found two interestingly unique items, and I will mention them here. Lobster macaroni and cheese, which was actually very tasty and lobster ice cream, but I had to pass.

Get out of there and evacuate the area while you still can. This is what I'm saying to all my South Florida family, friends, and followers, who have not yet decided to leave the danger zone... Mi Casa es Tu Casa.

Even commercial airlines have begun to wind down their Florida operations as Hurricane Irma is being tracked closer to the state's busiest airports. Already, hundreds of flights have been canceled in anticipation of Irma, which has astounded meteorologists with its relentless size, strength, and has already broken records powered by a strong ridge of high atmospheric pressure over the Atlantic ocean.

The slightly weakened Category 4 storm slammed into the Turks and Caicos Islands earlier as it barreled through the Caribbean, responsible for double digit deaths.
