Abolish The Electoral College

Submitted by ub on Fri, 07/19/2019 - 19:57

POTUS ratings are under water in all the national polls. However, Donald Trump’s possible re-election might not be quite so bleak.
This one is a worst rip-off than buying a degree from Trump University.

His advantage in the Electoral College, relative to the popular vote, may now be even larger than it was in 2016, according to analysts of national election results and polling data.

GOP Pushback

POTUS had a free reign with Congress for the first two years since he took office, but the Democrats began to pushback after We The People voted for and now, finally even Republican US Senate is playing a game of political truth and consequences.

In fact, Senators from both sides of the aisle are trying to stop Trump from using emergency authority to sell arms to Saudi Arabia and Trump’s tariffs on Mexico mark the latest breaking point for Senate Republicans who have started a GOP pushback.

As I write from one of Marriott Hotels’ four star properties while traveling on business with my favorite award winning banker, who does not want me to write a story about her experience because she believes in keeping a low profile, I learned the following.

Marriott International has come up with a new home-rental concept, aiming to take on Airbnb Inc. and other home-sharing companies in one of the lodging industry’s hottest segments. Marriott will now compete with Airbnb worldwide.

Texas-based Nexstar may become the nation's largest local TV station owner after announcing a $6.4 billion deal to acquire Tribune's 42 stations. This deal now creates the largest commercial TV Broadcaster in the #USA.

The CEO's kindler, gentler approach towards the FCC and other regulators will see an intensified public relations blitz in securing federal approval of the Texas-sized takeover.

Home Buyers Year 2018

The US housing bubble was a real estate bubble affecting over half of the U.S. states. Housing prices peaked in early 2006, started to decline in 2006 and 2007, and reached new lows in 2012.

However, for the past several years, home sellers have had the upper hand as they haggled with buyers over price. However, next year it will be a fair fight.

Don't Be Rushing US

What is the reason for the Trump administration's tiny steps toward imposing sanctions targeting Moscow under a new US law by sending Congress a list of entities linked to the defense and intelligence arms of the Russian government?

It is the world’s largest nation, and perhaps POTUS has a vision many Americans have yet to see, like the fact that Russian borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Its landscape ranges from tundra and forests to subtropical beaches.

Big City Homeless

Submitted by ub on Mon, 07/24/2017 - 10:13

Has the number of homeless people significantly increased in large metropolitan areas? Folks without a permanent place for them to live are most often unable to keep regular, safe, secure and adequate city housing.

This problem bodes poorly for the future. Decades of research have shown the staggering societal costs of families with children in poverty. The kids grow up with less education and lower earning power. They are more likely to end up with drug addictions, psychological traumas, diseases, and could possibly end up in prison.

Where is that amazing leadership voters were promised? When are we going to get tired of winning? Why is he a self-proclaimed great negotiator? Leading the free world should be about bringing our allies closer together while attempting to negotiate with others, but that is not what is happening here. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/new-rifts-emerge-as-tru…

BOSS DAY

Submitted by ub on Mon, 10/17/2016 - 15:41

Boss’s Day is observed on October 16, or the nearest working day, which is today. I can safely say speaking from experience that if you have a boss, you're better off with a woman as your superior.

The day goes a long way to improving the relationship between employees and supervisors. Also, there's nothing more miserable than celebrating someone that you don’t like. And then there is the pressure if a collection being taken to get the boss a gift. If you don’t contribute, you're not a team player.
