In case you had not noticed, there are moves underway for some new commerce on the avenue.

These are another laundromat and one more restaurant. Construction workers are very busy refurbishing the building, which is next door to Ruth Antiques and preparing the long abandoned structure which used to house a pizza shop for a new Chinese food establishment.

Both are new welcomed additions on City Island avenue on the corner of Fordham and City Island avenues is where you will find these next two businesses.

Expensive - Minimum charge per month just for wifi, whereas other providers charge significantly less for the same service.

It's about time because it took long enough. But if you believe NYC Parks this time, City Island's Belden Point capital project will soon create a small green space and plaza at the southern end of City Island Avenue including new pavement, benches, bollards, and railings.

Bronx county allocated $170,000 for this project, and NY State secured an additional $170,000 grant. The project has been awarded to a contractor, and a contract was registered on March 10. They are currently negotiating a start date with that contractor.
