Frightening Skies

Friendly skies, not so much... Let's face it, Christmas and new years are the best time to be with our family and friends but it is also the busiest travel time of the year. The family part was delightful and I was pleasantly pleased to see Olivia, Parker, Sophia, Chloe, and Elena as well as their dogs so well behaved and I must give credit to Natasha and Sabrina for this.

But since today is the last of the peak travel days during what was most certainly the busiest year ever for air travel in the US and I am finally back home, I have decided to share some of my observations.

PUSSYHAT PROJECT

American women will begin to wear pink knitted ‘Pussy Power Hats’ as a way to protest Trump's vulgar comments.

These women all across this great country are planning to festoon themselves during a march on Washington, DC, which is scheduled for January 21, the day after Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

These hats are an obvious reference to Trump’s notorious “grab them by the pussy” statements.

Marist Manuevers

Brother, can you spare a band? On what should be a happy 200th-anniversary celebration for The Marist brothers, the organization has become involved in a political controversy that neither Saint Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers nor the folks at The Marist Poll could have possibly predicted.

As a former distinguished visiting professor and a faculty member there, I can say that Marist has some notable alums like Fox News' Bill O'Rielly, but not The Donald. The question which begs to be asked is why is Trump's alma matter not marching at his own inaugural?

Russian Payback?

President Obama threw Russian spies out of the US. As payback, Russian hackers could have taken down the US Customs computer system on the busiest travel day of the year causing them to go manual.

All as a cover to a fresh team of spies arrival at US airports slipped thru the system to do their tasks in the US just as undocumented people instead of known Foreign Diplomats.

Using Internet connections in the US instead of foreign IP addresses which would easier to trace and harder to filter out. Trump did say something about the hacking would soon be coming to light.

Challenging Government

Submitted by Admin on

Civil disobedience has been an important part of the fabric of this country and a key to social change from the earliest days of the country’s development, through the Vietnam War protests, to the work of the civil rights movement and beyond.

As a new administration is set to begin its work within a divided country, acts of civil disobedience are on the horizon – some being organized now to be held before, during and after the inauguration of President Trump.

The GOP party has already started without an RSVP and there's not turning back America.
Who was it who promised to drain the swamp? Republicans have apparently decided they don't need not stinking ethics committee.

For the first time in a long time, Washington DC is controlled by The GOP and Congressional leaders are preparing an ambitious political agenda.

We've seen years of partisan gridlock, and Republican leaders of the 115th Congress begin their new session eager to advance their own policies, which have been stalled for years.

There is now a new website that allows everyone to make recommendations to their government while everyone else can see these suggestions and determine how much support they have.

These terms may apply to an individual, a small or large group of people. I personally watched this unravel with the latter. Today is Sunday, Jan. 1, the first day of 2017 with what could turn out to be 364 global crazed days to follow.
