They're Back in Session

Congress is back to work, but only for two weeks before they take another vacation? This bicameral legislature of the Federal government of the United States, which consists of The Senate and The House of Representatives seems to spend more time off than they do working.

The law-making branch of our national government shares power with the president and the Supreme Court. The writers of the U.S. Constitution thought Congress was so important, they are listed first, so why is it they like to drag their heels and act last?

Damaging US?

The new administration has been in office over a year now, with a Republican majority in government. Does anyone really know if this evolving agenda is helping the country, or hurting us? Is this constant turmoil damaging US credibility with friends and foes?

My multiple journeys to Shanghai, China has revealed some unique and interesting art and cultural histories. The most populated metropolis on earth is located on the coast and is a global financial hub.

Its heart is the Bund, a famed waterfront promenade lined with colonial-era buildings. Across the Huangpu River rises the Pudong district’s futuristic skyline, including 632m Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with distinctive pink spheres. Sprawling Yu Garden has traditional pavilions, towers, and ponds.

Blowing Trade Winds

POTUS is going after China on tariffs and considers an additional $100 billion in response to China's decision to slap $50 billion on US imports. China's $50 billion was a response to the Trump announcement of $50 billion in tariffs on China. The president has called trade wars "good, and easy to win" so when are we going to get tired of winning?

April is the Cruelest Month

An April storm system will bring heavy rain, mountain snow, and strong winds, from portions of California to the Pacific Northwest into this weekend. Debris flows, mudslides, and burn scar flooding may be possible in California. East of the Rockies, much colder temperatures and the threat of wintry precipitation from the Ohio Valley to the Northeast US Friday and Saturday.

Snow Go Away

Mother nature has a way to surprise us every day. Although the calendar may say Spring, more snow is on its way across the upper Midwest, Great Lakes, Northeast, and northern New England way.

Accumulations of up to a few inches are possible in the Great Lakes and interior Northeast. This could bring a more significant snowstorm on Friday and Saturday, with heavy snow from the central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic. Washington, D.C., could have its biggest April snowstorm in nearly 100 years on Saturday. How can anyone deny climate change is real?
