However to state that AP has had three presidents in 1o years is a bit distorted.

Currently serving is Mr. Tom Curley, who came to AP from Gannett's USA TODAY has just announced that he is stepping down after 9 years at the helm. Most of the folks City Island Images spoke with were not very surprised.

So, even if we include the new President, whenever he, or she is finally chosen that will make it 3 Presidents in 27-plus years.

It's not every day that Cuban born and longtime Havana resident Chucho Valdés performs outside of his country. But, the Cuban pianist, bandleader, composer and arranger did just that this weekend with back to back packed concerts in Carnegie Hall in NYC and NJ PAC in Newark.

Chucho is not only known as one of Cuba’s greatest jazz pianists and one of the founders of IRAKARE. His father is the famous Cuban pianist and former director of Havana’s famous “Tropicana” nightclub band Bebo Valdés.
