A Bronx native and multiple Grammy Award nominee, Bobby is a drummer, percussionist, composer, arranger, conductor, and bandleader who has performed with a number of jazz legends. Bobby has been named this year's Jazz Journalist Awards' Percussionist of the Year. He is also a co-curator of the Bronx Rising! series at the BMHC Lab and a founding member of the BMHC's Music Advisory Board.

Those huge actions behind all of his big dollars and all of his cents were never making a heck of a lot of common sense. Large-size soft drinks are another sip closer to a huge comeback in the Big Apple.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's efforts to ban large sugary drinks from restaurants, fast-food outlets, sports arenas, movie theaters and other outlets has now been rejected by New York Appellate Court ruling the plan was illegal.

A new report warns US drinking water systems require $384 billion in repairs.

Our nation’s aging drinking water infrastructure suffers an average of 700 water main breaks a day and will require an investment of $384 billion through 2030 in order for service to remain reliable, according to a new report released by The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Although his campaign manager has resigned and his political peers continues to shoot harsh words towards him, Anthony Weiner will stick it out and stay in the race for New York City mayor.

As reports surface about Weiner's exchange of lewd photos with women despite resigning from Congress in 2011 and his standing in the polls continue to fall, the City Island Civic Association has invited him and Christine Quinn to appear before the organization tomorrow.

The City Island Civic Association will be meeting on Tuesday, July 30th at 7:30pm at 190 Fordham Street.

CICA will have two guests at the next meeting, former Congressman Anthony Weiner and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Both are candidates to be the next Mayor of New York City.

Letters were sent to all announced candidates as of 04/30/2013. So far, the only announced candidate to attend has been Adolfo Carrion, Island resident and Independence Party nominee. City Comptroller John Liu also attended our January meeting, before he declared his candidacy.

WEDDING PARTY BOAT CRASH

A deadly nighttime speedboat crash on the Hudson River hurled the bride-to-be and her fiance's best man into the water and left the groom and three others injured, including a friend who was piloting the boat.

Six friends were on board the boat when it struck a barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge, sending Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon, both 30.

The bride is presumed dead and the groom is missing as a result of a NY wedding boat ride.

The body matching 30-year-old Lindsey Stewart was pulled from the water, but officials have not issued a positive identification.
