PATIENCE From September 3 to November 3 not only marks the meteorological autumn season in the Northern Hemisphere.
It has other names. Some call it the season of the wish, as in we wish you a merry Election Day and much more to come...
Meanwhile, there are 7,170 languages spoken in the world today. LOVE is the common language we the people should, would and could say.
Humanity has spent thousands of years trying to define, name and claim exclusive ownership of the almighty.
We have built religions, institutions and traditions around our understanding of the divine, often turning those differences into boundaries between “us” and “them.” But what if we have misunderstood the nature of divine time?
The Grand Canyon was not created in a day. Evolution did not unfold in a generation. Nature operates on a scale that dwarfs the human lifespan. God in much the same way: patient, persistent and willing to allow humanity the time and freedom to find its own way.
That perspective also challenges religious rivalry. Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed and other spiritual figures carry different names, histories and traditions. The names may matter less than the message. Love one another. Treat others with compassion. Seek happiness without denying it to someone else. Perhaps the divisions are from our human flaws, not God's.
Free will becomes central to this understanding. If humanity was given genuine freedom, then God cannot simply compel people to believe, behave or love in a particular way. Instead, the divine role is one of guidance and persuasion. We are given choices, allowed to make mistakes and encouraged to learn from them.
This may be one of the most difficult ideas for human beings to accept: God does not necessarily demand immediate perfection.
Perhaps the larger lesson is patience. Humanity is still evolving, not merely biologically but morally and spiritually. We remain capable of cruelty, division and hatred, yet also of extraordinary compassion, creativity and love.
If God can wait millions of years for a canyon to form, perhaps we should not be surprised that humanity's journey toward understanding, tolerance and love is taking a little longer.
And perhaps, in the end, the most important question is not whose name we use for God, but how we treat one another while we are here.
So to wrap up, It is beginning to look a lot like change is in the air for all of US who truly care about the future of our America fou our children their children, and so one… etc.
