The Communist Revolution was a global failure and its devolution is occurring as governments send out SOS for UN assistance.
For example, the situation in Cuba, as indicated by the government's request for urgent help from the United Nations food program, highlights the severity of the economic crisis facing the Communist island nation. The shortage of essential items such as milk, fuel, and medicines underscores the challenges that the Cuban people are currently enduring.
The request for powdered milk specifically for children under seven years old highlights the vulnerability of the younger population in Cuba due to economic hardships. While subsidized food items are provided through ration books, delays and shortages are common, exacerbating the difficulties faced by families.
Additionally, Cuba's reliance on external support, particularly from Russia, has been a longstanding aspect of its economic strategy. However, with US-led sanctions impacting Russia's ability to assist, Cuba is turning to other countries such as China and Iran for desperately needed support and financial assistance.
Meanwhile, the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's death in Russia serves as a reminder of the historical ties between Cuba and the former Soviet Union. However, Putin and the Kremlin's reluctance to acknowledge Lenin's legacy in light of contemporary geopolitical tensions, particularly regarding Ukraine, reflects the complex dynamics at play in international relations.
Following decades of decay, Cuba's government has finally asked the UN's food program for help as food shortages on the Communist-run island continue to worsen.
The World Food Program reports receiving an official request from the Cuban government for help providing powdered milk to children under seven years of age.
Their handout is a sign of the seriousness of Cuba's economic crisis. As well as a shortage of milk, fuel, and medicines are also running low.
The WFP reportedly confirmed to Spanish news agency EFE that it had been approached by the Cuban government to "continue the monthly delivery of 1kg 35oz of milk for girls and boys under the age of seven throughout the country".
The WFP said it had already started delivering milk powder to the island. Powdered milk and other basic foods are provided to Cubans at a subsidized price through ration books, but delays and lack of supplies are common, especially at times of economic hardship.
Russia has been propping up the Cuban economy for decades, but now US-led sanctions are hurting Putin, Cuba is reaching out to China, Iran, and others for a handout. Recently the Cuban government announced that it had dismantled an alleged network recruiting Cuban citizens to fight in Ukraine after several news media reported that mercenaries from Cuba were fighting on the Russian side of the war. Putin must be desperately hoping and waiting for the Republicans to help.
