A Paradise In The Bronx

Submitted by ub on

There is a special small island nestled behind Pelham Park in The Bronx called City Island - A Slice of New York City Paradise.

City Island is a neighborhood in the northeasternmost section of New York City. This small gem is approximately 1.5 miles long by 0.5 miles wide. City Island is a natural trifecta located at the extreme western end of Long Island Sound, south of Pelham Bay and east of Eastchester Bay.

This paradise island is a little less NYC and a little more Cape Cod, a quaint island in The Bronx full of old Victorian homes, squawking seagulls, fresh saltwater, a marina full of boats, and enough lobster for everyone to stuff their faces.

City Island is an enchanted neighborhood in The Bronx in New York City, located on an island of the same name since 1685.

This tiny residential island offers a multitude of restaurants, and several marinas, with an 1877 lighthouse off its tip. Anyone can drive directly here. It's a big seafood spot, with many restaurants to choose from. There are also a few nightlife spots including bars and coffeehouses.
