AUTUMN IN NEW YORK

Submitted by ub on

The best time to visit is Fall. Tied with Spring, a week-long-if-you’re-lucky, blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it transition from Winter to Summer.

Autumn, with its beautiful colors during the months of October and November, remains the most pleasant season to visit New York City.

The weather is pleasant, for one thing, largely mild and sunny with the bright blue sky lighting up some seriously vivid foliage. If walking around outside matters then autumn is the time to visit and stay a while. I suggest you skip the Hamptons and head to City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise, or to another coastal Connecticut town instead. They’re both less crowded and wonderful year-round. The local beaches attract me like a magnet. Fortunately there are several to chose from.

I returned to NYC the third time around in 1997 and stayed here since. However, I miss my family, which resides in the Golden State and others in the Sunshine State.

Finally, as long as you are here in The Big Apple, the following are rules for the road. https://www.cntraveler.com/story/things-to-know-before-going-to-nyc
