BOOMERS FIGHT

Submitted by ub on

Baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, now make up a powerful and politically active bloc of roughly 73 million Americans, ages 61 to 79. And as the Supreme Court of the United States considers legal challenges tied to immigration policies advanced during the Donald Trump administration, older Americans are increasingly stepping into the debate.

From retirees advocating stricter border enforcement to others mobilizing in defense of immigrant rights, senior citizens are mad as hell and will not be sitting this fight out. Many are organizing through advocacy groups, attending town halls, and leveraging decades of civic engagement to influence public opinion and policymakers alike.

The stakes are high: SOTUS rulings could shape enforcement priorities, asylum rules, and executive authority for years. For baby boomers, a generation that has lived through major shifts in U.S. immigration policy, this moment represents both a continuation of long-standing debates and a final opportunity for many to leave their mark on a defining national issue.
