BRICK JUNGLE?

Submitted by ub on

My wife Yirong and I visited a local married couple and good friends and asked them to witness to our 10-year wedding renewals.

Just catching up is fine, but sitting around and dunking our feet in their pool and sharing afternoons together like kids do are how we make memories. While we were enjoying a lively conversation, with Bill and Elena, my wife noticed a single flower growing out of their brick patio, giving a new meaning to the term concrete, or brick jungle.

Elena, who is a member of the local garden club immediately identified it as a Petunia, They are among the most popular flowering annuals because they are bright and lively, bloom from spring until frost, and scent the air with lovely fragrance.

Petunia is a girl's name of English origin meaning "trumpet-shaped flower". Literary heritage: the "Loony Tunes" girlfriend of Porky Pig. ... Perhaps-more-pleasing Petunia alternatives: Petal, Posy, Poppy

Petunia, a genus of about 35 species of flowering plants in the nightshade family (Solanaceae), native to South America. The common garden petunia (Petunia ×atkinsiana) is an ornamental plant whose showy trumpet-shaped flowers make it popular for summer flower beds and window boxes.

Best of all, petunias are amazingly easy to grow, both in the garden and in containers. There are hundreds of named petunia varieties.
