It's Java daba do... The time has come to celebrate our beloved brew during National Coffee Day on Monday, September 29.
Two-thirds of American adults drink coffee daily, with each coffee drinker consuming an average of three cups per day, according to an April report from the National Coffee Association. Overall, the report found that coffee accounts for 8% of the U.S. food service sector.
"Coffee holds a unique place in Americans' daily lives - no other beverage is such a beloved and prominent touchstone," said National Coffee Association President and CEO Bill Murray in the report. "Coffee's popularity brews big benefits for American coffee drinkers and the entire U.S. economy, and we expect America's love affair with coffee to continue for many decades to come."
While at home remains the most popular place to prepare coffee, according to the National Coffee Association, this Monday presents coffee lovers with the opportunity for a takeaway treat as restaurant chains and coffee shops around the country run promotions in honor of National Coffee Day, which is celebrated each year on Sept. 29.
