A prominent medical figure is calling for a bipartisan congressional investigation into President Donald Trump’s fitness for office.

He is citing a controversial letter POTUS sent to the Norwegian prime minister. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist who formerly treated the late Vice President Dick Cheney and now a medical analyst for CNN, said Trump’s message to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and the decision to distribute it to other European governments, raises questions about the president’s judgment. “This letter… should trigger a bipartisan congressional inquiry into presidential fitness,” Reiner wrote on a social media platform.

Reiner’s remarks follow other public commentary in recent weeks questioning Trump’s health and cognitive clarity. He has previously suggested the president undergo further medical evaluation after episodes in which Trump appeared tired at official events.
