Funny Russians

Submitted by ub on

Once upon a time on American television, Russians appeared as cartoon characters and were accepted as funny folks.

It was 58 years ago today, June 27, 1964, the final episode of Rocky & His Friends during the first two seasons and as The Bullwinkle Show for the last three seasons aired.

Natasha and Boris Badenov are fictional characters in the 1960s animated television series Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show, collectively referred to as Rocky and Bullwinkle for short. He is voiced by Paul Frees.

He and Natasha are the secondary antagonists of the 2000 films The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Boris is a spy for the fictional nation of Pottsylvania, and takes orders from the nation's leader, Fearless Leader (and occasionally the rarely seen Mr. Bi).
