One of the most used slang words in Spanish is calling someone a ‘pendejo’ which literally means ‘pubic hair’ - It’s the worst putdown.
This is equivalent to calling someone ‘stupid’ or an ‘asshole’ and can be used in an offensive way. While Spanish varies greatly throughout Latin America, you can also find this word used in countries such as Colombia and Venezuela.
