This Election day is very special to me. I was selected to serve as a proud grandpa for the last time to my youngest granddaughter LiV. On this date in history, and before my time:
-
1948: Harry S. Truman won the U.S. presidential election in a major upset against Thomas E. Dewey.
Then…
- 1963: South Vietnamese President Ngô Đình Diệm was overthrown and assassinated in a military coup.
- 1976: Jimmy Carter was elected as the 39th U.S. President.
- 1983: President Ronald Reagan signed a bill making Martin Luther King Jr. Day a federal holiday.
- 1988: The first major computer worm (the Morris worm) was released on the internet.
- 2000: The first permanent resident crew arrived at the International Space Station.
- 2004: Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate from Illinois, and George W. Bush won re-election as U.S. President.
-
2016: The Chicago Cubs won the World Series, ending a championship drought that had lasted since 1908.
On 2015 a gorgeous girl arrived to my celebrity daughter and first time mom Sabrina and her "Daddy-O" Steve.
