HOMEWARD BOUND

Some may say that Mi-Ami - Mi Amiga, in  South Florida has become the New York of the South, with finance, tech, and hospitality.

Not only me, but Americans Are Moving Out of Miami, Florida because of:

  • Cost of living, as compared to the national average: 19% higher

  • Median household income: $59,390

  • Livability score: 79/100

The Sunshine state has become a more diversified economy over the last few years. However, we’ll take Manhattan any day. This is what it was like years ago when I started working in Miami as a cub reporter. https://www.aol.com/glimpse-miami-crazy-1980s-13-135604131.html?guccoun…

My wife and I prefer New York City. The world ranking gave The Big Apple 🍎 the highest rating of all American cities. It does get cold, but earthquakes and hurricanes are rare.

As I make plans to return on an $80 one way flight from MIA to LGA, American customers lodged a record 66,675 complaints against U.S. airlines, according to a new report from the U.S. PIRG Education Fund, a consumer advocacy group, based on data from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Passenger complaints have surged since the pandemic, rising every year since 2021, according to PIRG.following a sunny and dry start to the week.

Also a nor’easter is forecast to form near the New York coast, bringing several days of cool, gloomy weather from Wednesday to Friday. That’s not normal — a nor’easter, in May, no way, yes sir.

Meanwhile, Floridians have plenty to worry about. The steadily rising housing demand compounded with low supply will price residents out of one of the hottest markets, just like New Yorkers have experienced for decades.

I spent the past month working and living with my old friend Miami, but there is no place like home. Now, I am heading back to my wife’s loving embrace to live happily ever after in her arms in our sweet home without a mortgage, on  City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise.
