How do you kill free speech? There are a few methods, some answers, and here are a couple of examples.
Answer number 1:
On the eighth of September of 1960, Fidel Castro passed a law to stifle free speech in Cuba by empowering neighbors to turn against neighbors.
On that date, Castro created the block-to-block Committees for the Defense of the Marxist-Leninist Cuban Revolution.
Castro said, “In each block a committee, in each neighborhood the Revolution —one block per barrio, one barrio per village, the country fighting for the Revolution.”
On that day neighbors turning against neighbors became a higher truth than free speech.
Free Speech died at the hands of a tyrant.
Answer number 2:
On the first of July of 2022, Ron DeSantis enacted the “Stop W.O.K.E. Act” that outlaws free speech by deputizing neighbors to turn against neighbors.
DeSantis’s Act forbids people in schools and businesses from teaching and discussing any topic that would cause people to “feel guilt, anguish or any form of psychological distress” due to their race, color, sex, or national origin.
After that date, teachers and fellow workers in the State of Florida can be turned into DeSantis’s “hurt-feelings-police” if the flow of free speech makes anyone feel guilt or anguish or any type of psychological distress.
On that day DeSantis empowered an army of informants to stifle the free flow of ideas in the State of Florida.
Free Speech is beginning to die at the hands of a tyrant.
Parallelisms:
A horse of a different color is still a horse.
So a horse is a horse is a horse.
And a tyrant is a tyrant is a tyrant.
