When you asked me to put some stuff about our vacation to Ireland in your blog with some pictures I got to work on it right away! Now since I am not a techy guy, I have never read a "blog" let alone composed a story for one. Not intending to make it too long I recounted our triangular journey from Dublin, south to Kilkenny City and the Rock of Cashel, NW to beautiful Connemara and the coast, then east to County Meath, and back to Dublin. It took on a life of its own! I kept adding memories, comments, and photos.
I was thrilled to be finally finished after all the life things going on. ( getting a new computer, new dog responsibilities, and Kathy's back going out! ) I thought the length might be a tad extreme but last week when you told me the amount of words ( I forgot already) and photos (3) Kathy and I looked at each and laughed. I think I got a little carried away! My word count was 3,229 with 62 photos! However, I don't regret anything! I learned a lot, am much more computer savvy, and thoroughly enjoyed the creative writing process! I thank you again. Below is a brief synopsis and a few of our favorites.
While in Ireland my wife, myself (Irish for myself ), and another intrepid couple traveled for 7 days in a triangular path through 10 counties, from Dublin, south to Kilkenny City and the Rock of Cashel, NW to beautiful Connemara and the coast, east to County Meath pronounced Meat! and finally back to Dublin. Along the way, we viewed some of its most captivating sites, from magnificent castles, old monasteries, stately homes, lush gardens, and ancient ruins, driving along narrow roads through towns unchanged for maybe 5 hundred years, towering mountains on every side, and green… lush green...every shade....everywhere. I took hundreds of images while visiting the Emerald Isle. I hope these few photos capture some of the enchantment of this magical land for you.
