NYC Cherry Blossoms

The good news is that Spring Equinox started on March 20th, but in NYC it's now Spring because Cherry 🌸 Blossoms have started blooming. The bad news is that Japan is experiencing the earliest cherry blossom bloom in 1,200 years. Experts point to global climate change as the cause. Gorgeous, but depressing! 

NYC Cherry blossom season marks the beginning of longer, warmer spring days. It’s time to shake off winter, pack a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors. New York Botanical Gardens, Central Park, and Branch-brook Park are among the places we chose to walk around and be inspired by these gorgeous and majestic trees. 

Washington DC boasts lovely tree-lined walks, but the best are found in Japan Some of the earliest sakura in downtown Tokyo can be found on a lovely backstreet in Nihonbashi, near Fukutoku Shrine. I think these are known as Kawazu Sakura and are a lovely sight for sore eyes. A truly bright pink color.
