RESTAURANT WEEK

City Island is serving up its first-ever Restaurant Week, and it’s aiming to draw food lovers from across New York City.

Running April 7–12, the event will spotlight 15 restaurants across the waterfront enclave, with limited-time specials spanning lobster shacks, smokehouse BBQ, Italian Irish pubs, and Greek and Mediterranean spots.

Hosted by the City Island Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Flavors of NY, the weeklong promotion is both a culinary showcase and a post-winter boost for local businesses.

“We invite you to City Island for our first-ever Restaurant Week,” said Chamber President Paul Klein. “Our restaurants are ready to welcome you.”

Marketing Director Monica Yehle-Glick added: “They’re putting their best dishes forward, and offering specials that deliver.”

  • Seafood with a view: City Island’s reputation as a seafood destination takes center stage.
  • Variety in a small footprint: From casual bites to sit-down dining, all within a walkable strip.
  • Limited-time deals: Prix-fixe menus and specials designed to attract new visitors.
  • Easy day trip vibe: A quick escape from the city with waterfront scenery.

The idea grew out of the borough-wide “Savor the Bronx” initiative in February 2025, where a dozen City Island restaurants participated. After a tough winter, organizers saw an opportunity to build momentum with an event focused entirely on the island.

To boost digital reach, food writer Alan Goldsher of Flavors of NY produced short video vignettes highlighting participating spots — giving potential visitors a preview before they arrive.

It’s a curated, one-week push to remind New Yorkers that one of the city’s most distinctive dining strips is back — and ready for spring.

Over a dozen local eateries are participating.
