A long time ago, my wife, Yirong, asked me to digitize the RFESOTO audio and video collection, so I tasked my son to help.
After Yiliang began dubbing my tapes, Seth, my brother from another mother, suggested I contact the Internet Archive and donate the recordings. I present the Roberto FE Soto files, brought to you by a crossover of an eclectic media and academic career, which are far from over. I wanted to preserve these for my family, friends, and the surfers on the internet superhighway on the World Wide Web.
Everyone has a story. Some get written down. Some live in photographs. And some, the best ones, live on tape.
This collection gathers audio and video recordings from a life well-lived and well-listened-to. Some are stories we told over the years. Others are stories I discovered, enjoyed, and had to pass along. All of them are offered here freely for curious minds of every age, every background, and every corner of the world.
What started as a family project, tapes digitized with love, nudged toward the world by good friends, grew into something bigger: a gift to anyone surfing the internet superhighway who stumbles upon it and stays a while.
