SAVOR US

The deepest failures are rarely explained or suddenly exposed. They gradually arrive through broken promises, repeated across generations, until neglect hardens into tradition. Immigration is not a surprise crisis, but America's long-running national drama is shaped by avoidance, political convenience, and the steady refusal to act.

We are not witnessing chaos; it is a consequence. Another broken promise layered atop an old wound that spans generations. Immigration did not explode overnight. It grew quietly, predictably, year after year, as leaders chose delay over responsibility.

This is a confession of decades-old generational neglect. Immigration didn’t just happen to us; it was built slowly, silently, and every day by politicians who chose fear, theater, and delay over solutions.

I have reported from El Salvador, and sending non-criminals to prison there is cruel and unusual punishment. Anyone who has come to this great nation, "shining city upon a hill" to describe America as a beacon of freedom and opportunity, should be able to work, follow the laws of our land, and participate in the peaceful process.
