There are past experiences to give the Republican House Speaker cause for serious concern, but his warning fell on deaf ears.
- US Representative Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) is still serving in the House shouted “You lie!” during then-President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress in 2009, prompting the Democratic-controlled House to formally reprimand him.
- US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) heckled President Bidend last time during his State of the Union last year, at one point trying to start a “Build the wall” chant as he spoke about immigration.
If what one of my teachers used to tell me… A word to the wise is sufficient. It probably means that the latest group of Republican hecklers is not wise and may lack many other attributes.
