One World Arts Presents "Titi’s Strikes Back - Evelina's Return," a Play about Puerto Rican Activist Evelina Antonetty

Bronx, NY, February 12, 2024 – One World Arts is thrilled to announce the premiere of "Titi’s Strikes Back - Evelina's Return," a powerful, interactive play by Puerto Rican writer and performer Sandra Nía Rodríguez. The contemporary production pays homage to the iconic Puerto Rican activist Evelina Antonetty, one of the most influential leaders of the Puerto Rican diaspora in the twentieth century.

Event Details/  Dates and Times:

Daytime performances from Tuesday, March 19, 2024, to Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10 am and 12 noon, with a final gala performance at 7 pm on March 21, 2024.

Venue: Repertory Theater at Hostos Center for Arts & Culture, 450 Grand Concourse, Bronx.

Synopsis:

"Titi’s Return" follows Evelina Antonetty as she returns to Earth for her 100th birthday celebration after leading Universal Justice in Heaven. Faced with charges of improper practices by an illegal Celestial "Junta," Evelina stages a courageous takeover to challenge false accusations. God, portrayed as a young executive woman and a stagehand, joins her in an interactive play with the audience to explore relevant questions about life on Earth and our roles in saving our communities and the world.
