WANT IT BACK?

MTV launched in the US in 1981. It was the first 24-hour music channel, and quickly became known for its ability to churn out headlines, like the debut of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video in 1983 and its 16-hour telecast of the Live Aid concerts in 1985.

It hosted its inaugural MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 with performances from Madonna and Tina Turner.
The iconic brand's parent company, Paramount Global, has confirmed plans to shut down all remaining MTV music channels by December 31, 2025, in all Territories Except The US

MTV Music – The flagship music video destination
MTV 80s – Home to beloved retro hits and nostalgic favorites
MTV 90s – The ultimate throwback channel for alternative rock and pop classics
Club MTV – Dance music and electronic beats around the clock
MTV Live – Live performances and concert coverage

It will all be gone at the end of the year.
