All the President's Men

Déjà Vu all over again. The term déjà vu is French and it means, literally, already seen. Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all.

The classic Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman movie tell the story of the infamous Watergate Republican Party scandal.

Republican President Nixon's term was slated with various other scandals, but thanks to Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, Watergate takes the lead. The film was preserved in the Library of Congress in 2010.

Regardless of the surrounding circumstances, all crooks will do anything including trying to cheat and lie to save their hides. The US Constitution confers discretions on the highest officer in the Nation in confidence that they will never abuse it. Nixon and Trump Nixon challenged the assumption that no president would undermine the American system of government.

During the miserable lame-duck period, we must trust in a better future that a man will not act as a mouse. Nobody wishes to put the USA through the turmoil of another Trump impeachment. However, with his increasingly irresponsible abuses of power, Americans can not afford to look the other way.
