Exhibition Talk: Mark Morrison

The History and Evolution of Garden Tools

Tonight! Tuesday, April 17
7:30 p.m.

Don't miss our first exhibition-related talk by landscape architect Mark Morrison,
whose collection is now on view at BPMM.

In a dynamic presentation on the History and Evolution of Garden Tools, Mark discusses
the transition from custom-made to mass-produced, and the impact this has had on
our environment.

After the talk, view the exhibition, meet Mark, and join us in the Orangerie for
wine and cheese.

Member Mornings: All About Us

Upstairs, Downstairs, and in the Garden

This Friday, April 20
10:00-11:30 a.m.

Are you a member of Bartow-Pell yet? Here's a great reason to become one!

Our spring Member Mornings are all about the history of the site.

From the upper-class Bartows (presented in March by museum historian Joanna Schoff)
to their Irish servants, discussed this month by docent Doug Hearle, to an overview
of the historic garden in May done as a Masters project by Jane Cooke.

This Friday, April 20, docent Doug Hearle takes us "downstairs" with a talk about
the sometimes forgotten lives of Irish servants who immigrated to this country by
the thousands in the 19th century seeking employment with families like the Bartows.
