New York Botanical Garden
Explore the Thain Family Forest, the largest remaining tract of old-growth forest in New York City, and immerse yourself in the magnificent colors of fall foliage. See the Forest from a different perspective with a scenic canoe trip down the Bronx River and spot birds that call this woodland home. Tree-climbing demonstrations, guided tours and more make for an unforgettable autumn experience. Themed discovery walks of the Forest take place throughout each day.

The Bronx Zoo
Moving the focus from the flora to the fauna is the Bronx Zoo – the world’s largest urban zoo - featuring more than 600 species from around the globe. The Zoo’s exhibits bring visitors face-to-face with the animals. Be sure to check the daily schedule of feedings and enrichment demonstrations happening at exhibits throughout the park.

Bronx Culture Trolley
The Bronx’s famous trolley rolls out on the first Wednesday evening of each month at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, on the campus of Hostos Community College. The trolley departs at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30pm for other venues in the South Bronx Cultural Corridor. The trolley ride and admission to participating venues along its route are free. The Bronx Culture Trolley vehicle is wheelchair accessible. Venues included on the November 6 itinerary include Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Gordon Parks Gallery, Bronx Documentary Center and BronxArtSpace.

Pregones Theater
On view at Pregones Theater through February, Alejadra Regalado’s work examines how a group of Mexican women who immigrated to the U.S. at different points in their lives went through the process of choosing which personal objects, among all of their belongings, were important enough to take with them on their journey. Pregones will also present performances of The Harlem Hellfighters on November 15-16.

Lehman Gallery
Through January, the Lehman College Art Gallery presents Morphology of the Print examining the form and structure of contemporary printmaking. Wave Hill
Enjoy contemporary art amidst the breathtaking views and gardens of Wave Hill. Shows on display in November include Alan Ruiz’s site specific Against Nature and Tandem Pursuits: Armor & Ichthyology, in which artists including Frank Gehry, Ben Snead and others explore the eccentric pursuits of one of Wave Hill’s erstwhile residents, Bashford Dean.
