The Bronx Children’s Museum is actually a former school bus, which has been painted in a burst of bright purple, orange and florescent yellow. It is the brainchild of the grandchild of a well know TV personality and pioneer blogger.
The Bronx Children's Museum walls have been lined with art produced during an enrichment program ran last summer, in which children from the Bronx drew inspiration, artistic and otherwise, from the life of Sonia Sotomayor, the Bronx-bred Supreme Court justice. The Museum is headed by Executive Director Carla Precht, who attributes her determined attitude to her famous grandfather Ed Sullivan, who hosted the legendary Sunday night TV variety show on CBS, and also wrote a column for the NY Daily News until the late 1960s.
