BRONX PUSH 4 PEACE FESTIVAL

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. will join New York City Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook, and the Hot 97 Street Soldiers to hold “The Bronx Push 4 Peace” Festival this afternoon.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 28th , from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hostos Arts Center at Hostos Community College, 500 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY. The day’s program will be hosted by Fox 5 News reporter and Hot 97 “Street Soldiers” host Lisa Evers, and will focus on offering our youth empowerment and alternatives to street violence, giving them the opportunity to make positive connections with our prominent community leaders.

The event will feature a diverse interactive discussion panel with a focus on how to help our youth get beyond the violence and negativity that destroys many lives in our neighborhoods each day. Celebrity guests, including hip-hop artists and star athletes, will also attend.

The event will also feature live music from Hot 97 DJs, a wide range of activities, including an open mic competition and a fair, with various community organizations offering information on “gun buyback” programs, free GED classes, fatherhood programs, neighborhood anti-violence groups information, as well as education and job training opportunities. The event will also feature giveaways, prizes and refreshments, and will be free to the public.

The town hall discussion panel will air the following morning on Hot 97.1 FM in New York City and the Tri-State area. The show will also stream live on www.hot97.com.
